Certification to become a Club fitting, making and repair professional
Professional Clubfitters Society has the position in de golf industry as the independent academy to learn club fitting, making and repair on a professional way and meet the highest level world wide. All certified members of Professional Clubfitter’s Society have to take classes and hands-on training on the spot. All classes are given by certified teachers who follow a special program given by Professional Clubfitters Society. This training is given by Walther Bouckaert who has years of experience in club fitting, making and repair. He was also instructor for PCS Louisville Kentucky and educate several PCS members. Walther Bouckaert has the highest level of education, is the club fitter on the Ladies European Tour and worked for several playing professionals. During the 4 day’s of education of the 3 main courses each pupil have to carry out tasks and have to do the practical exam in the afternoon on the last day of school. All written exam is a detailed open-book test. Each exam from the three main courses contains approximately 250 theoretical questions. To pass the theoretical exam 80% of all questions must be answered correctly. To meet the highest standard it’s not possible to do practical exams at home or with out following a practical on the spot course.
Club Fitting Exam
The PCS Club Fitter Certification Exam is developed for all club fitters to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in the area of club fitting. PCS Club Fitting certification is the mark of excellence in the field. This certificate of approval by the Professional Clubfitters’ Society certifies that the member of Professional Clubfitter Society is skilled in gathering the data by proper analysis and is able to write a recommendation to best fit the costumer. The practical exam requires the club fitter to analyse and gather all required information to write a complete recommendation during the last day of the course.
Club making Exam
The PCS Club Maker certification is a mark of excellence in the clubmaking industry. This approval by the Professional Clubfitters’ Society certifies that the clubmaker has demonstrated his or her knowledge and practical application of clubmaking skills during the training in one of the schools located around the world.
The practical exam requires the clubmaker to assemble five golf clubs to our exact specifications during the last day of the course.
Club Repair Exam
The PCS Club Repair Certification is developed to provide an opportunity for club fitter around the world to demonstrate their extensive knowledge and skills in the area of club repair. PCS “Class A” Club Repair certification is the mark of excellence in the field.
The certificate of approval by the Professional Clubfitters’ Society certifies that the member is skilled in all aspects of repairing a golf club; including metal, wood, iron and putter head repair and re-shafting and proper replacement of shafts and grips.
The objective of the skills exam is to allow the candidate to show his or her bench skills in repair and re-shafting during the last day of the course.
